Commercialization Investment Fund Award Winners May 28, 2002

May 28, 2002 - Commercialization Investment Fund Award Winners $1.6 Million Invested in Companies and Researchers in Kentucky Kentucky rolled out a new weapon in its drive to foster high-tech companies: the first batch of awards authorized by the Kentucky Innovation Act of 2000. "These awards are designed to aid our companies in creating marketable products from cutting-edge university research products - and to invest in companies taking new technologies to the marketplace," Gov. Paul Patton said in announcing them. As called for by the Innovation Act, the money is set up as a set of three venture funds: The Kentucky Commercialization Fund, The Rural Innovation Fund, and the R&D Voucher Fund.
